John Tong joined the Institute of Government’s Survey Research and Evaluation Support (SRES) unit in 2022, bringing over 30 years of experience in data analytics, reporting and governance. As a Database Administrator Principal, he supports institute researchers by maintaining and implementing SRES systems and data reporting. He began his UGA career with EITS, the university’s central technology department, in 2015, providing reporting, analytics, data governance and warehousing services across campus. His role later expanded to include security, development, integration, maintenance and operations of the student system (Athena/Banner).
