A new web-based tool allowing users to compare water and wastewater rates for Georgia has launched. The site, georgiawaterrates.org, hosts data on water rates for more than 500 utilities across the state. It was built by the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government to help citizens and community leaders study utility rates across the state. The interactive dashboard allows users to study residential water and sewer rates against various attributes, including utility finances, system characteristics, customer base, socioeconomic conditions, and geography. The site also allows users to verify rates. The tool, supported by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority, aims to be a comprehensive resource for rates throughout Georgia.
