In this webinar, we will highlight the Georgia Criminal Justice Data Handbook as part of the Institute of Government's ongoing efforts to provide criminal justice data trends in Georgia. This handbook is a comprehensive resource. With more than 50 sources, it includes data on Georgia arrests, prisons, probation, courts, and more. By offering a centralized reference, the handbook aids stakeholders in researching criminal justice trends with up-to-date insights. During this webinar, participants will learn more about the data sources in the handbook and crucial contextual knowledge.

In addition, we will preview key findings and trends in the forthcoming Georgia Criminal Justice Data Landscape Report Insights: A Closer Look at Probation, Crime, and Arrest Data.

Georgia was among the fastest-growing states in the United States over the past decade, with a population increase of more than one million people. An aging population and regionally uneven population growth are critical demographic trends for leaders to consider. For example, one out of every four Georgians are over 55 today, but that demographic made up only 15% of the state's population in 2000. Additionally, half of the state’s growth during the past decade was concentrated in five counties, while another 68 lost population. This session will highlight these trends and others unfolding across the Peach State.
